Well 13 1/2 inches must get cut out in order to fit onto the s10 chassis so here we go.

All welded in and in primer to prevent rust.

After a few hours of triming and shaping it into place it looked like this. I just need to weld it in. Not bad with just a few hand tools. It's not a show car but, it a nice solid piece of metal.

Again I'm on a shoe string budget. This a Toyota Rav4 door. I made a Card board templet before I cut out the rust. I layed my templet on the door. I used my spray paint to out line my cut marks and then cut it out.

The drives side dog led was rusted out too. I left a little bit of what was good metal so I had a body cotour to follow.

I'm on a shoe string budget of $0.00. I used a sheet metal from a end cap of a baseboard heater. It's now weldedinto place.

I Started to make my car into gasser and I wasn't happy the way it was turning out. I started to look for a S-10 to drop my body on to. I found a chassis in Newton NJ and the price was right. The only problem is it's from a 85 Chevy S-10 2wd blazer. The wheel base is 100.5 inches,mine is 114 inches. So do you lengthen chassis 13.5 inches or do you shorten the body 13.5 inches. If you know me you know I'm a little crazy so I chose to shorten the body behind the rear door 13.5 inches. I in listed my bud Pete to help out. I could not have done it with out him. (Thanks dude) We yanked it out the old chassis this past weekend(3/12/2011) and cut it up. As I was dumping the chassis I notice a rusted section that Pete nor I noticed. I t looked kind of thin so , I put my finger on and pressed down and it fell a part. I'm glad I'm replacing it.

The rust is far more worse than I thought so no I don't feel so bad cutting the car in half. Enjoy the pictures

Well my buddy Pete Hooked me up with some paint. I'm on a tight budget so I'm running with it. It's 1992 GM dark green blue code # 54 . I have some Toyota Diamond White (pearl) for the roof so I hope it looks cool when I'm done. He also donated a pair of Chrome exhaust tips to the cause.
I can't do too much till the spring. I have a one car garage and it's colder than a witches tit out there.

The Chassis is shot so I picked up what looks to be a 75 Nova Sub frame. For Motivation I'm going to be running a SBC with a 81 Camaro turbo 350c trans (lockup converter) into a 70 Monte Carlo rear end.I also picked up a mid 90's Caddy STS booster assembly.

Howdy there boyz and gals. This is a my blog on my 1953 Plymouth Cranbrook. I wasn't my first choice of 50's era cars but, we all know Chevy's and Fords go for big bucks now a days.
I've been wanting a project car again the minute after I handed over my keys of my 69 Camaro to it's new owner. I originally wanted a Model A But this car came along and I had to jump on it because the price was in my budget(400.00).
I purchased it on February 22 2008. Boy let me tell you it was a bitch trying to get it back home. I got jerked around by one transport company for two weeks. I finally got some one to tow it from York PA to NJ. It got delivered to me one cold, windy and rainy night in early March 2008.
So I'm going to document it's build here on this page. I hope you like it .The next few photo's are from the beginning to present. I hope you guys enjoy this build.
